About Lewis Clark Recyclers Inc...
Fifteen Years of Service
Founded in 1989, Lewis Clark Recyclers, Inc., (LCRI) remains under its founding administration. LCRI is a closely held "C"
Corporation and is not now, nor ever has been subsidized by any government or other private organization. It is physically located on Idaho's first Capital building site in downtown Lewiston. LCRI's staff consists of 22 full-time and 9 part-time employees. The company aggressively pursues its commitment to providing and maintaining a socially healthy, safe and productive work environment. Therefore, it maintains an exemplary substance-free workplace program, rigorous safety awareness and ongoing training programs.
LCRI's processing plant is contained within the grounds originally developed for Nez Perce Tractor in 1929. LCRI operations occupy three-quarters of the 1929 structure which safely accommodates the steady flow of small & large commercial truck traffic passing through the facility's processing equipment and rotating product inventory. These receiving, processing and shipping activities can be observed within the confines of the facility as you pass by, or by those visiting the neighboring Luna House Museum.
A Pioneer
Unlike customary recycling establishments, LCRI does not engage in daily public trade or buy-back activity, leaving these individual depository/monetary exchanges to its regional counterparts. Instead, LCRI leverages the residual use of municipal/county recycling programs in the LC Valley and surrounding region for which LCRI assumes the important role of collector and/or processor. LCRI prides itself as the first real pioneer in the realm of "waste minimization" through the use of sustainable alternatives. LCRI provides complete "at the source" waste management consultation, waste reduction program development and recycling service deployment.
State-of-the-art Processes
LCRI's philosophy entails the education of both the private and public sectors within its service area, with the purpose of development and administration of waste reduction through source separation. LCRI's growing mechanical resources are specifically designed to service commercial and industrial disposal diversion activities, along with the timely collection and processing of the growing volumes of various secondary materials recycled as a result of LCRI's programs.
LCRI's collection routes operate around the clock, seven days a week with multiple vehicles and drivers. Every day LCRI's service activities account for 200+ tons of materials diverted from disposal and processed for reuse in secondary applications. The number of regional households, businesses and individuals satisfied by LCRI's services increases daily.
Award Winner
Since 1990 LCRI and/or members of its administration have been recognized with several prestigious awards for the initiative efforts that have made the company such a success, including those presented by the State of Idaho Governors Office and the Idaho Dept. of Commerce.
